Located in Tan Bien District, Tay Ninh Province, about 35 kilometers away from Tay Ninh, Lo Go – Xa Mat National Park is considered as the green lungs of Tay Ninh Province in particular and of the Southeast in general.

A peaceful green home for many rare animals and plants
Lo Go – Xa Mat National Park was established on July 12, 2002 with a total area of 19.204 hectares. On March 31, 2020, the Prime Minister agreed in writing to merge the Cultural Forest – History of Mr. Riec into Lo Go – Xa Mat National Park. After being merged, the park has a total area of 30.023 hectares, including the regions of Tan Binh, Tan Lap, Hoa Hiep, Thanh Tay, Thanh Binh and Thanh Bac Communes of Tan Bien District, Tay Ninh Province.
Lo Go – Xa Mat Park occupies 34,6% of the total area of the province’s natural forest with animals and plants that have conservation value, named in the list of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), list of CITES Conventions, and Vietnam Red Book. Several common species of trees here are Anisoptera costata, Dipterocarpus alatus, Dipterocarpus dyeri, Hopea odorata, Xylia xylocarpa, Sindora cochinchinensis, Queen’s flower, Dysoxylum loureirii… There are several pure forests (single species) of the Dipterocarp family and many species listed in Vietnam Red Book such as Rosewood, Dalbergia cochinchinensis, Sandalwood…

In terms of animals, there are a number of species of conservation concern such as black-shanked douc langur, pangolin, wildcat, loris, sarus crane, purple-tailed pheasant, Java crane, woolly-necked stork…
Life in the forest
In order to meet the needs of visitors’ experience, The Center of Forest Environment Education and Services has devised many fascinating tour programs. Trekking or cycling through the forest will amaze you once you discover the wild beauty of the enchanting world of animals and plants.

Recently, the program “Cycling through the forest” (2 days 1 night) has been selected by many visitors. Enjoying the journey by terrain bikes, you will have the chance to discover the forest when crossing the green grass full of wildflowers, weaving on rough roads in the jungle. You will encounter squirrels, giant butterflies, some small animals on the way. Especially, you can also savor many kinds of forest fruit specialties such as Kuy, Downy rose-myrtle, Truong, Xoai Mut, Cicca acida… Camping in the midst of the forest, listening to the birds call for a new day, or leisurely rowing could also be interesting.
